Around 1965 we started the development of our EPDM systems. A unique and sought-after product within the European market. This made us the first producer of EPDM membrane in Europe. Well before the creation of the traditional bituminous products, we introduced EPDM as (amongst others) roofing material on the market.
The HERTALAN® system is a complete system in which EPDM sheets, membranes, details, accessories and adhesives & sealants are perfectly matched to each other. As a result, we have been able to build up an established name worldwide in 'Waterproof Solutions' within a number of years.
Pioneering is in our company. With our own R&D facilities we always know how to meet the most recent requirements for safety, environmental impact and sustainability. In fact, we are often one step ahead of the norm! Our forward-looking vision therefore appeals to the imagination of a varied clientele.
Significant for the quality of our R&D department is that we are the first to have developed a fully KOMO certified EPDM membrane which complies with NEN6063 (determination of the fire hazard of roofs | fly fire resistance).
At the end of 2007, the European test methods were adapted in The Netherlands, for this purpose the NEN6063 was specially created. This is a public-law requirement in the Dutch Building Decree which demands that a roof system must be flame-resistant. As a result of this change in standard, all KOMO certificates of all EPDM roofing suppliers were withdrawn at the end of 2007. With the knowledge of our rubber technologists and a certified laboratory, we were able to regain full KOMO certification within three months.
