EPDM membranes are frequently used as roof covering on flat roofs. EPDM is a synthetic rubber that has been manufactured since the 1960’s, and has proven itself over the years. Just like natural rubber, EPDM membranes contain unique properties, making it an ideal roof covering. It remains elastic and is resistant to temperatures ranging from -35°C to +120°C. Furthermore, it is fire and spark resistant. In addition, it is resistant to ozone and UV rays, all kinds of salts, bases and acids – with the exception of crude oil products – and has a proven lifespan of over 50 years. EPDM is sustainable, recyclable, reasonably cost effective and practically maintenance free. With these qualities, it surpasses traditional roofing systems in all areas.
When we look at the properties of EPDM, it has advantages over traditional roofing products such as bitumen. EPDM has unique properties, an extremely long service life and has a safe and simple installation method without naked flames. Furthermore, it is resistant to ozone and UV radiation, all kinds of salts, bases and acids – excluding some petroleum products - and has a proven service life of more than 50 years.
EPDM is sustainable, recyclable, comparably priced and virtually maintenance-free. This makes it an ideal roof covering for all applications.

EPDM is mainly used as a roof covering for flat and pitched (1Degree upwards) or low slope roofs. The application is simple, efficient and safe process without any naked flames. The EPDM membrane can be applied in many different roofing systems, each with its own fixing method. For example, EPDM roofing can be applied in a loose, ballasted system, mechanically attached system, or a partially or fully adhered roofing system. Also for a green roof system EPDM is suitable.
The roof covering is supplied as a membrane or as separate rolls.
An EPDM membrane is a factory produced sheet in which the roofing sheets are bonded to each other under controlled conditions during the production process. The result is a large EPDM membrane with which many roofs can be waterproofed in one process. The advantage of this is that all the seams are fabricated during manufacture, so fewer operations on the roof are required. This leads to an efficient installation, which provides a considerable saving in man hours.

Our EPDM rolls have a length of 20 meters and a width of 1.40 meters. Pre-installed on the edge is a green welding strip, with which the membranes are welded together. During installation, the strips are heated by means of hot air, fusing the membranes together and achieving a UV resistant, waterproof connection.
